One day, I was having a conversation with one of my dear friends (who is also a partner at Triple Creeks), offering her some life-advice that was so on-point that we got to deep belly laughing over it. We expressed our gratitude for being in each other’s lives, offering an outside perspective on something we individually might be too close to see.
This is the image that I visualized when we shared this moment:
This relates to another image, one that my therapist offered me when I was 10 years old, a way to approach strong feeling as directed at me. He placed a stone pyramid in my hand, pointed to the tip of the structure and shared “If you climb the pyramid to meet the feelings, you, too, will get wrapped up in the force of the wind. But if you choose to stay rooted, low, you will be much less affected by the storm.”
This is what he meant:
We’re working on systemic change, from the ground (water) up. What we do isn’t simple or straightforward; but neither are the difficulties you face with your professional ‘baby’. We work intimately with you to identify the areas that you need support with, then tailor solutions for your project and team. We’re both extremely detail-oriented and broad thinkers. We’ve worked in many fields: maybe not yours – and that’s okay! The tools we provide are universal across sectors. This is not stagnant or urgent work; it is never done, and it’s always changing.
